This mistrust ties in with the whole trend of shunning everything that is not “natural”, which completely disregards that not everything that is “natural” is also healthy. There’s quite a bit of very “natural” poisons out there.

And yes, I agree that here in The Netherlands, hormonal birth control is often prescribed as a cure all for all womb related issues, and that that is maybe not the best way to go. Also, there’s a strong focus on particular kinds of hormonal birth control (third generation oral contraceptives and the hormonal IUD) in favor of other kinds that may be more suited for somebody’s particular situation (think birth control shots, or a pill with only a particular type of hormone). This however does not mean that all hormonal birth control is “crap” by definition.

Not wanting any form of hormonal birth control is a choice every person is free to make, there’s many other options, condoms (available in all sizes and materials) are just one of them. While there’s absolutely nothing wrong with getting an abortion, I’d imagine that most people who don’ t want to be pregnant would rather prevent a pregnancy than terminate it, if only for practical reasons. Just remember that Natural Family Planning is cool and all, if you don’t mind running the risk of getting pregnant at any moment: no matter what anyone on TikTok says, the temperature method is best used as a way to try and increase your chances of conceiving. If you don’t want that to happen (right now), you’ll need to find a contraceptive method that actually works;
